“When you know, you just know!”. That is what Nadia said to me over the phone when we first talked about her wedding day plans and marrying her love, Patrick! They were beyond ready to start a life together as husband and wife! I was so thrilled to get to know these two during their engagement. This pair is a fun-loving couple with their values aligned and hearts in sync.
I first met Nadia and Patrick in Brooklyn, NY for their Engagement Session. She was thrilled that I would be willing to drive up to them in NY and I was equally excited to explore a new location. This section of Brooklyn / Dumbo was buzzing with families, active young couples, people everywhere just enjoying life and the spectacular sunset view of the city skyline over East River. The energy was great and Nadia and Patrick were up for anything. These two were so easy to photograph because of their natural connection. I saw on that day how they were effortlessly in love like souls reunited from a past life. I looked forward to capturing that love on their wedding day!
Their late Summer, nautical-modern wedding was held at Icona in Avalon, NJ. The atomopshere was quite different from NY and they fell in love with the Jersey shore get-a-way. Hearts were pounding as Nadia walked toward Patrick for their first look. Guests at ICONA were watching from close by and got wrapped up in the romance of the moment. I don’t know if Nadia and Patrick noticed since they were in their own world, but they did have an audience clapping for them! Their smiles and embrace once they saw each other said it all. Their hearts are home with one another.
Before guests began to arrive, we spent some time on photos with their bridal party and also made sure to carve out meaningful time for just Nadia and Patrick.
The intimate ceremony was emotional for all who were fortunate enough to witness their commitment. The music, warm glow from the sunshine and summer breeze set the tone for the start of their journey together. They wrote their own vows and just like that – were offically married!
The party started immediately after the ceremony and never stopped! Seeing two families blend together was rewarding, and capturing Nadia and Patrick’s earliest and most special memories as newlyweds was a strong reminder for how important my job is.
