Allison & Mike | Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel Wedding

A historic landmark to the city of Asbury Park for over 100 years, the glamorous and modern Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel served as the perfect location for this Summer wedding. The mixture of new elegance and Victorian architecture was something that excited and inspired Allison and Mike for celebrating their special day.Allison and Michael’s wedding day began with Michael waiting in the lobby for the pizza delivery person as I arrived to find the bridal suite. I hadn’t seen Allison and Mike since their Allaire State Park engagement session, which was full of laughter so I knew that their big day would be a magnified version of our time together there….and now include pizza!
Mike and Allison are dedicated to their family and life together. They compliment one another so well as they balance strengths, just as all resilient relationships do! Even with a day full of nerves, children, details, timelines and excitement Michael kept Allison laughing and being present in the moment at all times!
After their first look, we were able to take advantage of the unique murals and activity along the Asbury Park Boardwalk. I have only been to this area for weddings, and each one looks different as there are so many possible areas to use for unique photos – a photographer’s creative side of the brain doesn’t stop buzzing here! I spotted a girl doing Yoga poses against a mural wall and asked her to stay where she was so I can incorporate the fun, youthful vibe that Asbury Park offers in Allison and Michael’s photos. It is always a goal to tell the story of the wedding day as it truly happens!
Their beach ceremony was intimate and special with beautiful vows and family member as the officiant uniting the two. Naturally, the scene of romance attracted attention of beach-goers who joined in the applause once Allison and Michael were named Husband and Wife. After the ceremony, Allison and Michael took a few private moments together by the Jetty before attending to their guests. Their all-night celebration in the Berkeley’s Ballroom began with a lively introduction followed by a romantic first dance to Dan and Shay’s “From The Ground Up”. The dance floor was always full, it was evident that each person in attendance was full of happiness for the newlyweds!
